1.Calgary oil show 2021 postponed to the second half of the year
The global petroleum show, originally scheduled to be held in Calgary, oil city, Canada, in mid June each year, has decided to postpone 2021 to September 21-23 due to the latest situation of the current pandemic
2. Woodside promotes $11 billion worth of natural gas projects
Woodside is looking to develop the Scarborough gas field off the coast of Western Australia with the goal of producing the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 2026. To avoid selling new shares to finance the $11bn gas project, the company is seeking to sell some of its assets. Scarborough gas field was discovered in 1979 in the Carnarvon basin, 220 km away from the coastline, with natural gas reserves of 8-10 trillion cubic feet.
3. The United States International Trade Commission made the final judgment on the industrial damage of citric acid and citrate in the second double anti sunset review
On December 4, 2020, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to make the second antidumping and countervailing final determination on the sunset review of industrial injury of citric acid and citrate imported from China, and decided that the current anti-dumping and countervailing measures should continue to be effective. 4. Kazakh Ministry of energy requires oil and gas enterprises to fulfill the obligation of localization content
During a recent working visit to aktobin Prefecture, Kazakh energy minister nogayev said that Kazakhstan’s oil and gas enterprises should constantly improve the localization content and ensure the openness and transparency of procurement. At the same time, he said that Kazakhstan plans to establish a fund to improve the localization content, and Chevron will invest $248.5 million for this. The fund will invest in IT technology development, material and equipment production and assembly, and ecological environment protection, so as to improve the localization content of oil and gas field. 5. ONGC makes significant oil discovery in Colombia
ONGC videsh Limited (OVL), an offshore subsidiary of ONGC, announced the discovery of large quantities of oil in its cpo-5 onshore block in the Llanos basin, Colombia, with a daily production of 6300 barrels during preliminary testing. OVL is the operator of cpo-5 block, with a 70% interest, while Geopark Ltd, an independent oil and gas company focusing on Latin America, holds the remaining 30%.
6. 88 energy signs rig contract for Alaska Peregrine project
Australia based oil and gas company 88 energy has announced that it has signed a rig contract with all American oilfield for the Peregrine project in the NPR-A area on the north slope of Alaska and plans to start drilling in February next year.
