1. Iraq and France total sign major energy agreement

Iraq has signed a major agreement with total, France, covering four projects: oil field development, natural gas production, large-scale energy infrastructure construction and solar power generation. These projects are located in the oil-rich southern part of Iraq. The size of the contract has not been disclosed, but Iraq’s oil minister, IHSAN Abdul Jabbar, said on Saturday that total would invest more than $7 billion in the country.

 

2. Eni has signed a series of agreements with Sonatrach in the fields of upstream, R & D and decarbonization

Eni, the Italian energy company, and Sonatrach, the Algerian national oil company, recently signed a series of agreements involving exploration and production, R & D, decarbonization and training. Among them, the first upstream cooperation agreement involves restarting the exploration and development plan of the berkine basin area in Algeria, and plans to create a natural gas and crude oil development center to work with the existing mle-cafc facilities.

 

3. Shell will drill the Pensacola well next year

In the latest news on Monday, Deltic Energy said that shell and Deltic energy have confirmed to the UK oil and Gas Authority (OGA) that they have made a positive investment decision to develop the influential Pensacola oilfield in the south of the North Sea in May next year. Shell and Deltic energy are joint venture partners of the p2252 license in the block. Shell is the operator and holds 70% of the equity, while Deltic holds the remaining 30%.

 

4. Sval energi’s $300 million acquisition of Edison Norge

Sval energi, a Norwegian energy company supported by hitecvision, has completed a US $300 million acquisition of Edison Norge, expanding its product portfolio and staff as part of the company’s development strategy.

Through this acquisition, sval energi obtained 10 production licenses for the Norwegian continental shelf.

 

5. Baker Hughes is exclusively licensed by Sri international for carbon capture technology

Baker Hughes has signed a global exclusive license agreement with Sri international to capture carbon dioxide using Sri’s innovative mixed salt process (MSP). SRI is supported by the U.S. Department of energy’s office of fossil energy (FE) and the U.S. National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) in developing MSP technology.

Advances in carbon capture technology solutions are widely recognized as the key to achieving the global 2050 climate and net zero emission targets. In the field of energy and industry, carbon capture is one of the most feasible ways to decarbonize existing assets and new projects.

 

6. The congestion of Suez Canal has little effect on the export of crude oil from Russia’s Urals

Russia’s energy ministry said on March 29 that due to the use of other transportation routes, the current deadlock in the Suez Canal has hardly affected the export of Russian Urals crude oil.

Since the container ship ever given ran aground on March 23, the Suez Canal has been in a state of interruption. The route carrying nearly 10% of the world’s seaborne Oil Trade and 8% of the world’s liquefied natural gas was forced to close.

 

7. Petronas suspends participation of suspected illegal oilfield contractors in bidding

Deleum Primera, a Malaysian oilfield services contractor, has been suspended from participating in future tenders by Petronas as anti-corruption regulators investigate alleged immorality and integrity issues.
