1. Russian gas ust Luga large comprehensive natural gas project started
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Nowak and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller attended the launching ceremony of ust Luga large-scale comprehensive natural gas project in Leningrad last week. It is reported that after the completion of the facility, the natural gas processing capacity will reach 45 billion cubic meters per year, and it will become the largest liquefied natural gas plant in northwest Europe, capable of producing 13 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year.
2. Tanzania and Uganda finalize pipeline deal
Tanzania and Uganda recently signed the fifth and last agreement. The agreement will approve the construction of a 1447 km east African crude oil pipeline (eacop), with a total investment of about $3.5 billion. The pipeline will transport crude oil from hoyma, Uganda, to Tanga port in Tanzania for export. Total East Africa midstream, a subsidiary of total, will be the developer of the project.
3. Nexans wins Brazilian undersea umbilical contract
Nexans announced last week that it has won a major umbilical contract for the subsea integration Alliance (SIA), a partnership between onesubsea and subsea7 of Schlumberger. Nexans will design, manufacture and supply 27.3 miles (44 kilometers) of steel pipe umbilical cables and accessories for the ultra deepwater Santos basin project, which is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2022.
4. BHP sells all shares in Neptune block
BHP BHP of Australia announced on Friday that it would transfer its 35% ownership interest and operation right in Neptune oilfield to Houston based energy ven energy for an undisclosed amount.
After the agreement, enven energy became one of the largest operators of major offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.
5. Baker Hughes: fourth consecutive increase in the number of oil and gas drilling rigs in the United States
Baker Hughes, a US oil services company, said in a highly watched report Friday that by the week of May 21, the number of active US oil and gas rigs, the leading indicator of future production, increased by 2 to 455, the highest level since april2020.
This is the fourth consecutive increase in the number of oil and gas rigs by us energy companies, a total of 137 (43%) higher than the same period last year.
6. Finder energy has acquired two more UK North Sea licenses
Finder energy, based in Perth, Australia, acquired two promising UK North Sea work permits p2502 and p2524 from azinor catalyst limited. Both acquisitions are based on finder’s recent announcement of entry into the North Sea through the 32nd round of UK maritime licensing agreement, in line with its corporate strategy.
7. Siemens launches the first green hydrogen project in the Middle East in Dubai
Siemens energy, a global technology giant, has announced the first industrial scale solar powered green hydrogen facility in the Middle East and North Africa in cooperation with Dubai hydropower authority and Dubai World Expo 2020.
