1. Total’s climate strategy is supported by its shareholders
Patrick pouyanne, chairman and CEO of French oil giant total, said on Friday that investors at the company’s annual general meeting supported the company’s climate strategy and approved the change of the name of the giant to “total energies” to reflect its strategy of transforming to renewable energy.
2. Gazprom has won drilling contracts for three wells in Bhola gas field in Bangladesh
Gazprom EP international B.V., a professional company of Gazprom, has won a contract awarded by petrobangla for drilling three wells in Bhola gas field, with a contract value of US $77.184 million.
Gazprom will take over drilling from petrobangla’s subsidiary, bapex, which discovered the Bhola gas field.
3. Russia and Pakistan reach agreement on construction of natural gas pipeline project
Russia and Pakistan reached an agreement on the construction of the Pakistan stream gas pipeline project on Friday. This is Pakistan’s largest infrastructure deal with Russia since the early 1970s.
The “Pakistan Creek” natural gas pipeline, with a total length of more than 1100 kilometers, extends from Karachi Port and Gwadar Port in southern Pakistan to kasul area in Punjab province in northern Pakistan, with a planned annual gas transmission capacity of 12.3 billion cubic meters.
4. Archer oiltools and Wintershall Noordzee reach a P & a framework agreement
Archer oiltools announced on Friday that it has won the 2021 / 22 P & a system contract of Wintershall Noordzee. The scope of the contract includes perforating, cleaning, cement and formation integrity testing tools and services for 22 wells, as well as downhole tools and pipeline transportation tools and plug cutters.
5. Beckhughes: the number of oil and gas drilling rigs in the United States increased for the tenth month in a row
Baker Hughes, a US oil services company, said in a closely watched report on Friday that the number of active oil and gas rigs in the US, the leading indicator of future production, increased by 2 to 457 in the week ending May 28, the highest level since April 2020.
This is the fifth consecutive week for us energy companies to increase the number of oil and gas rigs, and may is the tenth consecutive month of growth.
6.Equinor and Aker BP are licensed to drill Norwegian wells
The Norwegian Petroleum Council (NPD) last week granted Aker BP and equinor their respective drilling licenses in the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea:
Aker BP has obtained the mining license for well 7234 / 6-1 and 7234 / 6-1a; Equinor was granted permission to develop well 6507 / 3-14.
