1. ExxonMobil plans to drill another 35 wells off the coast of Guyana

ExxonMobil, the American super giant, has found 11billion barrels of oil off the coast of Guyana. The local subsidiary Esso exploration and production Guyana Co., Ltd. (eepgl) has applied to the Guyana Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for large-scale drilling activities. From 2023, another 35 wells have been drilled in the high-yield offshore block of Stabroek

 

2. ADNOC drilling won a $2billion contract for the ghasha&hail offshore natural gas project

ADNOC drilling recently won a US $2billion contract for ghasha offshore large-scale natural gas project from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), which ADNOC said is the world’s largest sour natural gas development project.

 

3. Norwegian authorities expect up to 40 exploration wells this year

The Norwegian Petroleum Authority (NPD) revealed last week that a total of 17 exploration wells were drilled in the first half of the year, of which 14 were preliminary exploration wells, and six have been discovered so far. Two of them are located near Johan castberg oil field in the Barents Sea. Authorities expect a total of 35 to 40 exploration wells this year.

 

4. Baker Hughes acquires accessesp, an American provider of artificial lift and oilfield solutions

Recently, Baker Hughes announced the acquisition of accessesp. Accessesp is an advanced technology supplier providing artificial lift solutions. The company will further transform core oil and gas operations by reducing operating costs and downtime.

Accessesp’s “gorigless ESP system” provides a proprietary solution that enables electric submersible pumps (ESP) to be deployed and recovered using traditional light intervention equipment (such as wire ropes, coiled tubing, or well tractors) without the need for a drill or the need to pull the well production pipe. These technologies significantly reduce workover costs and downtime for replacing esp.

 

5. Rosneft starts construction of large Arctic oil terminal

Rosneft said on Tuesday that it had begun to build an Arctic oil terminal at the port of bukhta Seville. The oil terminal is expected to become the largest oil terminal in Russia, and 102 oil depots will be built by 2030. This is part of the Vostok oil project.

Rosneft also said on Tuesday that it began production drilling in the northern payaha oilfield, which is also part of the Vostok oil project
