Dolphin Drilling Company and Nigeria General Hydrocarbons Co., Ltd. (GHL) signed a one-year contract worth 96 million dollars for the Blackford Dolphin drilling platform. The contract will be executed in the fourth quarter of this year

 

2. The number of active oil and gas rigs in the United States decreased for the first time in four weeks

The number of active oil and gas drilling rigs of American energy enterprises decreased for the first time in four weeks, although the oil price rose to a five week high after OPEC made the decision to cut production.

Baker Hughes, the oil service company, said in its closely watched drilling rig report on Friday that as of October 7, the number of active U.S. oil and gas rigs, the leading indicator of future production, had decreased by 3 to 762, the lowest level since early September.

 

3. BP focuses on shale gas in the North Sea and the United States, seeking to increase oil and gas production in the near future

Gordon Birrell, head of production and operation of BP, said recently that BP was focusing on the short-term production growth of shale oil fields in the North Sea and the United States to increase oil and gas supply in the short term to cope with the global energy crisis. In 2024, a natural gas processing plant with an annual capacity of 1 billion cubic meters will be built in Kashagan Oilfield Base. In addition, the polyethylene project with an annual output of 1.2 million tons and the butadiene project with an annual output of 186000 tons are under planning. Within the framework of implementing the project, by 2025, it will attract about 14 billion dollars of investment and create more than 14000 jobs. Kazakhstan’s energy minister said.

According to OPEC+data, Kazakhstan has entered the top ten oil exporting countries.
